  1. Another one in the southern hemisphere - tricky you putting this on its side. ;)

  2. tacoma dome?

  3. Definitely not the Tacoma Dome. Keep the guesses coming.

  4. This is in the southern hemisphere. North is to the right of the picture. The sun is shining from higher than NE (and not quite NNE). The country (or at least the area) is arid.

To the top right of the picture, the opening in the wall is not much wider than a single vehicle. To the left of the building are what look like stairs leading off of the picture. This gives some sense of the scale of the building.

Possibly a storage facility. It may be that similar circular structures are off of the top and bottom of the photo.

Does anyone else notice any defining characteristics that could help narrow down the location. My gut says somewhere in Africa, but that’s not very helpful, really.

  5. My Daily Commute Says:

I have no idea what it is called, but it’s in Santiago:

    33 deg, 27′45.69 S by 70 deg 39′42.32

BTW, the Africa coment totally helped. I was busy browsing domes in North America.

    Great Game!

  7. There’s a photo of this aluminum domed building at http://www.temcor.com/aluminum_domes.htm.

Also, Yahoo Travel provides this description:

“An enjoyable day out where people visit the gardens, lake, swimming pool and the skating rink where children show off their skills. There is a picnic area and a kiosk selling drinks and snacks.

“As well as the fresh air the children can also enjoy the hundreds of butterflies and insects in the insect museum, see the animals of Chile at close quarters in the Fauna Museum and look at the fish in the aquarium.”
