You may have noticed last week that Google launched a new service called Google Earth. It’s an incredible tool that puts satellite imagery into the hands of the masses for free, and with a much better interface that the Google Maps satellite photo interface.

And it has some other way cool features, like being able to look at the terrain in 3D.

After playing around with it for a while, I figured we could have some fun with a scavenger-hunt like contest that’ll be a whole lot more interesting than Google Whacking. I’ll post an anonymous image from Google Earth, and the first person to send me the correct longitude and latitude of that location wins a valueless prize, to be chosen by me.

Your guesses must be entered as comments for the appropriate image, and we will rely on the date and time stamp features of the blog to prove who was first.

The first image will be posted shortly. Enjoy.
