To be frank, when I started searching I totally neglected the first rule of GoogleEarthing: look at the shadows and determine the hemisphere.
So I spend a lot of time scanning the bocage-landscape of Normandy and Brittany. Today I finally noticed the (short) southwards pointing shadows and realised it had to be on the southern hemisphere or just a little north of the equator.
As luck would have it South-America was my first choice to search :-)
