I’ve found enticing spots in Uzbekistan and Mali, but the colours are never close.

Glad you said that. I’ve been all over Uzbekistan for the last day or so, and can’t pin it down. Maybe I missed it?
Northern hemisphere, not SE Asia and landlocked (if we’re interpreting the clue correctly). That narrows it down to about 20 countries.

Wow, Mali is a great shout, but no luck yet. There’s one bit by Timbuktu that is sooo close and some other good areas further west.
Some time off work coming up (although I probably ought not spend my holiday doing this)!!

Wouldn’t have found it without your info Alan, thanks. I’d still be searching the Stans…

Well done, Kenwyn. It was much smaller than I expected.
BTW, why wouldn’t you spend your holiday time on this game?

Haha. Don’t worry, I probably will.
Bonus question: Uzbekistan shares a feature with just ONE other country in the world. Which country, and what is the feature?
March 25th, 2010 at 1:59 pm
Nice one Kenwyn.
On your bonus question: the other country is Liechtenstein, they are landlocked countries surrounded by only landlocked countries.

Correct. I got that as a “snowball” question in a quiz once. Won myself £10!

Landlocked only if you don’t count the Caspian Sea.
