GoogleEarthing #129
Sure, officer, I can walk in a straight line!
Hint #1: Harry Lime, by the sound of it, might lead you here.
Hint #2: He’s from la Mancha? I’ll say!

I’m thinking Canada.
But what bugs me is that I haven’t been able to Google this (yet). A fountain/monument/memorial/statue in a field/park.

I think it is a cemetery and it looks like it might be a military one with the memorial there. Does Europa Technologies extend beyond Europe? I found a kml file of French/German/Belgian and Dutch war cemeteries but couldn’t find this. Loads of Canadian ones in Europe so thought I was on to something for a while!

Hmmm, didn’t find it in or near Vienna..

Yup, me neither. He made that speech about cuckoo clocks too. Had a brief look there too but no luck so far.

Tried to search for places with names that sound like “Third man”…
April 8th, 2010 at 11:02 am
Harry Lime, The Third Man, Vienna, Orson Welles, Anton Karas (music), Carol Reed (director).
Not in: Vienna, Wells UK, Wells US, Orson US (neither of them), Karas Turkey, Aussonne Fr (getting creative) and numerous other miss-spellings/puns that I’ve tried (albeit briefly).
Are we going in the wrong direction?
How cryptic are your clues Alan? I’m fascinated by 125 and 126…..

I’m impressed with the wide range of options being pursued, but I think you’re trying too hard.
#126 is my lamest clue. I’m thinking of adding extra clues on the 16th.
Or would the consensus be to have extra clues this weekend?
April 9th, 2010 at 12:24 am
The simplest explanation I can draw from this hint is that we are looking for a place with a name that sounds like ‘harry lime’.
But it’s very hard to search for ’sounds like …’ words/names. It’s not Haarlem or Harlem.
As for the extra clues: I go with the majority (also known as Kenwyn and Adrian (with 2 a’s)).

Agreed

This is not a cemetery, but 7000 oak trees planted by school children on the Isle of Man.

What I want to know is: How did you find that link? I had no idea what this image was, only that it looked interesting.

I did a search in Google Images for New Nobles Hospital. I figured there might be a chance that this site would show up. And it did.
