"World View" is the underlying theme, so yes Kenwyn, that's the reason for #148. I was wondering if anyone was making the connection.

For #147, one of my comments contains a further clue.

#148 is Galapagos. So Darwin, Theory of Evolution. A scientific "belief", not unlike religion.

Managed to convince myself that #147 is Texas, but not found it. Need to do some more googling. Couldn't find it near Waco, even though I thought I was on to something for a minute.

Anyone else still out there looking?

Well done, Kenwyn. You are 95% to the theme (remember #148 for the twist).

34'27'09'' N 136'43'15'' E

Just south of Ise, Japan.

Didn't take long to find once I looked for the right thing. Went back to basics. We're looking for religious sites of importance (pretty much all main world religions have been covered). The clue points to Japan (ignore all the fish stuff). So I googled Shintoism and found the locations of various Shinto shrines. This was the 3rd place I looked. Will be hoping for similar success with the remainders. Not "played" for pretty much 6 months, so happy to get off to a flyer after 30 minutes!!!!!

This clue might have been prophetic, if you believe in that sort of thing.

I honestly did NOT know of the connection between oarfish and herring, so that did not influence my choice of words.

Don't try too hard with the blog clues. This site gives puzzles about geography.

Sometimes when reading the blog clues, think: "geography". Sometimes, think: "theme". It will take one or two more solutions for the theme to emerge. Believe me.
