AWAA - We’re done!

Final Standings
Alan……..0 (well, I did solve several, but none were left at the end)

We’re done! Two months of puzzles are now history. Congratulations to all the solvers for an amazing job. You may now return to your real lives.

Both Adriaan and I were sometimes surprised at the speed at which our “toughies” were solved, while the “easies” lingered. It all goes to show that our perceptions are not always universal. There’s a life lesson somewhere in here, but I won’t get on a soapbox, so rest easy.

We’ve enjoyed ourselves, and we hope you have too. If nothing else, a game like this helps us to see just how amazing this world is. We may not be able to visit all these places in person, but with GoogleEarth we can still marvel at the variety, grandeur, and beauty that is out there.

Adrian and Deepb1ue, please send your contact information to Brad, and we’ll contact you regarding the donations.

To Brad, both Adriaan and I would like to extend to you a heartfelt Thank You for allowing us to squat on your excellent blog these last two months. It has been quite the eye-opener to sit on the other side of the screen, and to appreciate all the work that you do just to feed our habit.

And for all of you, please go here, here, and here, and see what you can do! ;)

A&A ( who will now also try to return to our real lives)

Okay, Brad, it’s back to you.

Around the World with A&A

February 2nd, 2006 Brad Posted in .Administrative No Comments »

After the success of Ryan’s GoogleEarthing World Tour, the first place winner Adriaan and runner-up Alan have joined up to create a new GoogleEarthing extravaganza. We are combining favourite images plus images related to our lives to create a whole new selection of puzzles for you to solve.

The format will be slightly different this time: we will start with 10 images, and we’ll add a new image for each one solved. Thus GoogleEarthing will start each week with 10 images for your solving pleasure. If a backlog of unsolved puzzles builds up we may keep adding images anyway. In total you will have 40 images from Adriaan and 40 from Alan — around the world in 80 images!

As always, your solution, including map co-ordinates, should be posted in the Comments section for each puzzle.

The top two solvers will be allowed to designate a donation to charity in the Netherlands (Euro40 from Adriaan) or Canada (C$50 from Alan). The charity selection will be restricted to medical or humanitarian aid groups, but other than that the choice will lie with the solver.

So, keep an eye on this space, and get ready to see the world!!!!

Ryan’s GoogleEarthing World Tour Complete

December 16th, 2005 Brad Posted in .Administrative 4 Comments »

Adriaan has won Ryan’s GoogleEarthing World Tour. Ryan will post the results in the comment field.

I don’t expect any new puzzles to be posted before the end of the month, although I might surprise myself and you by doing so. In the meantime, there are some unsolved puzzles to play with, so give them a whirl.
